Learning to Play, LLC

Welcome! We are Learning to Play (LTP)! We are a team of behavior and education specialists that aim to help every family build strong, foundational relationships. Are you looking for guidance on helping your child achieve developmental milestones related to communication, mealtimes, or potty training? Are you struggling with challenging behavior?

We’re here to help! We specialize in teaching parents strategies to help their child succeed. Providing this support virtually allows us to reach families both near and far.

For those in the Seattle, WA area, we also offer in-person play groups for children under 8 years old!

Our Therapy Model

Learning to Play uses a naturalistic and play-based therapy model to help parents and caregivers build stronger relationships with their children. Using telehealth-based coaching, we guide families in implementing evidence-based strategies that work for their home life.

We focus on building skills that last a lifetime! Including:

  • Communication - both for the parent as well as the child

  • Play skills

  • Effective home routines (e.g., potty, sleep, morning routines)

  • Navigating meltdowns or concerning behaviors (e.g., hitting, throwing, self-injury)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Children learn about their world through play and everyone’s play looks different! We believe in celebrating this individuality by coaching parents and leading play groups that encourage play. Not only do children learn to play, but adults do too!

  • We believe that we can reach more families through virtual services. Without worrying about driving, parking, or traffic, families can focus on what really matters - learning the tools to help their kids thrive!

  • Coaching involves a professional developing a trusting relationship with a parent or caregiver. We discuss strategies that work best for you and your family. We never push families to use any strategies that aren’t the absolute best fit. Instead, we offer what we know through our professional experience and use the parent’s input to discuss how it can realistically work for them.

  • No. At LTP, we believe that every child and family can benefit, regardless of diagnosis.
